Does Word Count Really Make a Difference When it Comes to Blog Posts?

Do you remember the days when you used to have to sit in a class room all day long, listening to a teacher for what seemed to be countless hours? Well, do you remember the days when that teacher would expect an essay out of her students? If so, you will probably recall another student raising his hand, and asking the teacher how long the essay should be. If it was a good teacher, they would commonly respond with: “However long you think it should be.” In other words, do not worry about length. Instead, you should focus more on quality.

This way of thinking should apply to just about anything in life. Quality is always more important than quantity. So, why would you write a 10,000 word essay, when you could deliver the same point in only 1,000 words? It would be pointless, and that is the attitude you have to have when it comes to blogging on the internet, as well. Do not flood your visitors with a bunch of bloating, making the reading process more of a chore, than an enjoyable experience.

Instead of trying to make a huge blog post, delivering a ton of words, focus more on the quality of the post you are about to make. Make sure your title is strong, and it will attract more people to your post, but that is only half of the battle. You have to make sure your blog post is entertaining, to the point, and sweet. If your visitors feel like it is more of a chore to read your posts, they probably will not even make it past the first paragraph, if that far. So, remember to forget about quantity. Quality is always going to be the king. If you agree or disagree, please let me know in the comments section. I would love to hear your opinion.
